PartyGaming co-founder Anurag Dikshit agreed to a plea deal with the United States Department of Justice on Tuesday, in accordance with reports published over the past 24 hours. The terms of the agreement found Dikshit pleading guilty before United States District Judge Jed S. Rakoff to a single count under the US’s 1961 Wire Act, and agreeing to pay the United States a total fine of $300 million.
Dikshit, who will retain his 27% interest in PartyGaming, has already paid the first of three $100 million installments called for under the deal. The second installment is to be paid in three months, with the third due in September, 2009. Read full

Norwegian ‘UIGEA’ Becomes Law
A Norwegian bill attempting to block payments to online gambling sites, modeled after the United States’ controversial Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, was passed into law earlier this week. The passage occurred despite calls from that country’s banking officials, as in the US, that the law will be unenforceable. Norway is not an official member of the European Union, though Norway is a part of the unified European Economic Area, leaving it subject to some EU trade policies. It's Not All About The Cards
The purpose of the previous assignment was to show you a couple of things:
1) The flop usually misses people and the pot goes to the post-flop bettor.
2) By being consistent with your bet amounts you disguise the strength of your hand.
3) By being consistent with the half pot bet amount (or something relatively close to it), you can fold those hands that you get reraised on at a lesser cost to your stack then the typical "pot" bet, you show more strength than the weak minimum bet and thus get more respect, but at the same time by being consistent with it, people will continually test you, call you down (or raise you) in improper situations and thus build up the pots for you.
