Gus Hansen was the biggest winner on Full Tilt Poker by a huge margin over the last seven days.

Hansen plowed through 4,124 hands on the site and recorded huge heads-up wins against Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, DrugsOrMe and Arbianight.

By Friday Hansen had won a total of $606,497 in a seven-day span and is up over $2 million in the last four weeks.

It’s been a swingy 2010 for the Great Dane as he charged to a $2 million profit, then donated it all back and more, to hit rock bottom in mid-October at -$3.6 million.

Since then he’s managed to reduce his deficit to -$1.6 million and if the wins keep coming he might be even within the next few weeks.

With $9.6 million in career tournament earnings, including a World Series of Poker bracelet and two WPT titles, Michael Mizrachi will certainly be the most experienced player at the final table when play resumes in the 2010 WSOP Main Event a little over a week from now.

But he might not be the most prepared.

“What am I doing to prepare for the November Nine?” he said. “Pretty much nothing.”

The first-ever World Series of Poker Circuit Regional Championship Monday kicked off just outside of Chicago Monday.

The $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Regional Championship drew 226 players to Horseshoe Hammond in the Chicagoland area, creating a $2,101,800 prize pool – the biggest on the WSOPC in more than three years.

First place is worth $525,449.

A new concept for this season, Horsehoe Hammond represents the first of Four $10,000 Regional WSOP Circuit Championships on the tour.

Players in the Nationally Televised Regional Championship series are also competing for seats into the $1 million WSOP Circuit National Championship in Las Vegas next May.

Only 100 players will qualify, including all nine Chicago finalists.

Names like Barry Greenstein, Gavin Smith, David Baker, Chris Bell, Chad Brown, Bernard Lee, Nick Binger, Matt Glantz, Blair Hinkle, Frank Kassela, Allen “Chainsaw” Kessler, Kathy Liebert, Jeff Madsen, Jason Mercier, Sorel Mizzi, Vanessa Selbst, Dan Shak, Shannon Shorr, Justin Smith, Matt Stout, and Steve Zolotow all played Monday.

The World Poker Tour is headed back to Morocco.

After a succesful run in 2009, the WPT is going back the Casino De Marrakech for a €4,250+€750 tournament Nov. 27-30.

The first major poker tournament in North Africa, the inaugural WPT Marrakech presented by Chilipoker was a sell out featuring 416 players from 32 different countries.

France’s Christophe Savary took down a final table that included Eoghan O’Dea, Ludovic Lacay and Benny Spindler to grab the title and €379,014.

This year, sponsor Chilipoker has made the WPT main event the center piece of the Chilipoker Marrakech Festival, kicking off with a €500+€50 Deepstack Open event Nov. 20.

Gus Hansen has added a WSOPE victory to his record. The “Great Dane” won the WSOPE High Roller Event. Gus Hansen and Jim Collopy were down to the final two spots in the high roller event but both players were enrolled in the Main Event. The players agreed to wait until they were both out of the main event before finishing their competition, and they only waited two days before they were both eliminated from the main event. The event ended when Gus Hansen, a Full Tilt Poker pro, took home his first WSOPE bracelet.

A new online poker site coming to Italy will feature live dealers. Live dealers are a recent development in online poker. With live dealers online poker players log on to poker rooms and play while a real person deals cards, viewable by streaming video. Many poker players prefer live dealers because they feel that the game is more genuine. The newest poker room in Italy to offer live poker will be Malta-based Media Live Casino.com. The poker room was granted a license by the Italian regulator AAMS and plans on opening between October of this year and January 2011.
